Our Individual Flat surfaces that define the general shape

There are 111 panels in our final model. Most are hexagons, yet some are quads.

We have successfully created surfaces with Kangaroo Grasshopper and Rhino as well as a alterable tile that will fit into the quads of the surface, we were stumped in how to place that tile into the surface.

Seating Final Part 4

Seating Final Part 4

This is the proof that my strips end in a flat plane and al butt-up to eachother, there is a slider that adjusts the number of strips, which in turn also adjusts the individual thickness of each strip.

Seating Final Part 2

My 3 drivers were:
1.) Having strips of wood that go across the surface so that the ends remain ‘solid’ with no gaps and the number of strips can beadjusted.
2.) Amount of ribs that make up the internal structure
3.)Width and Lenght of the ribs.

The second and third prooved to be quite simple, while the first took a lot of tinkering with to get correct

Alex’s Class Post

I worked on Bae Sehwa’s Steam Bench. Of my 3 drivers I successfully completed 2 and got pretty close on the third. I am having some trouble posting photos and video’s on the blog and will attempt to do this again soon. Looking forward to the presentation!
