Product Families – Bracelets

The product family shears same design space in Grasshopper. All members come from the same definition. I was able to create multiple variations moving  sliders.

Deffinition

The project  aims to represent the frozen surfaces. How the surface changes the shape according to level of cold.  First shape I tried to make simple and created the gradient in between five family members. Starting from first it curves slowly and also grows as a shape. The structure inside the shape, introduces the ornament of the molecule in different density. I tried to create different chemical conditions fitting the shape of the bracelet.
Bracelet shape was created in Grasshopper, connected to Mesh settings, I can control density using the sliders..All the member of the family is printed by the 3D printer.

Bracelets

I printed bracelet, it’s on scale and fits very nicely.

The total printing time was three hours, but I have been washing it since last Sunday!

I also tried to think about five family member bracelets. My idea is to start with the simple one and show how the shape changes and wraps outside.

This is the contemporary city bench by Rocker Lange Architects.

I had a trouble creating same curves in Grasshopper, and then control them as I wanted.Grasshopper02

It looks that  Brep is not working but it is. I think it cuts the frames and that’s why. But it is working.

This is the sketch of mine, The idea how I wanted create in Grasshopper

It’s my firs time doing it, I’m happy haw it looks, I wanted to make it different way but hope next time I’ll make that happen.

Salome – Bench- Parametric Seating 1

Hi Everyone, I decided to make a street Bench

I have never used Rhino before, don’t Know how to render but I did screen shots and  I’ll try to explain how I didi it.

1-I started creating CURVE shape according to shape and then LOFT

2.Made multiple LINE to divide the shape equally and PROJECT to apply lines to object.

3-Then I selected only the curves,  made SURFACE and EXTRUDE
